Carol & Tucker- Lone Oak Barn Wedding

Curiosity, and the inherent desire to travel seem to be what made this pair fall head over hiking boots for each other. When we arrived for the big day, we were greeted with a hug from Carol in her floral bride-to-be robe. She came downstairs from the bridal suite with a huge smile, just beyond excited for the rest of the day to unfold! Family and friends traveled in from across two continents to see these two tie the knot and celebrate the start of their new journey as husband and wife. The rustic charm and natural light in Lone Oak Barn really fit Carol and Tucker’s personalities, so it was easy to see why they chose this country chic venue in Round Rock, TX for their nuptials. You might recognize these two from a previous engagement session post. If you haven’t, check it out here and you can learn more about this adventurous, outdoorsy couple.

We had a blast shooting prep and portraits, and we incorporated a lot of the venue’s details like the entryway barn doors where we shot some stunning bridal portraits of Carol. We especially like the bouquet shot on the venue’s vintage blue truck. These colors were too perfect! After the dress was laced and the shoes were buckled, Carol and Tucker decided to share their personal letters with one another. We staged them side by side with the barn door in between so they wouldn’t be able to see one another. There must have been some good stuff in those notes because even Tucker was struggling to hold back the tears. Their ceremony had the most beautiful floral arrangements, and the whole room smelled like a garden. Carol’s Aunt read a poem in Portuguese and the two exchanged their vows under the floral altar as the sun started to set. Carol and Tucker planned their day beautifully so that all the colors of the venue complimented everything from the bouquets to the suits.

It was an unusually warm day for February so we were able to spend time outside with the bride and groom (in their more natural habitats) for their creative session. It should’ve been way too early for flowers, but somehow the barn had a field of purple buds that looked absolutely perfect during sunset. After some mingling with guests, it was time for toasts. Since this couple already had a long history together, every speech was filled lots of personal testimonies and stories about how these two, and their love for one another, had impacted each of their lives. Fond memories of family camping trips and get togethers were shared in between cheers and wishes for the newlyweds. Some were funny, all of them were sweet, and they all painted a picture of a happy life with many more wanderful (wink, wink) loving years to come. The night ended with the guests saying bon voyage to the couple with a sparkler exit, and sending them off to enjoy their road trip honeymoon. Happy trails you two!
