Our journey with Evie and Brandon started right around Valentine’s Day. They had a great idea for a Mad Men inspired engagement session at an iconic bar named The Esquire Tavern in San Antonio. It’s the Riverwalk’s oldest bar with a 100 ft long wood bar top. Once we saw pictures of the inside, we couldn’t wait to get started planning.
The day started at sunrise at the Mission San Juan Capistrano in San Antonio, TX. The morning was a little rainy, and it got so foggy we couldn’t even see the white bell tower from the parking lot. But it wasn’t all bad, the fog did add a lot of ambience and gave us really beautiful diffused light to work with!
We couldn’t have asked for a better dressed couple either. The first looks worked perfectly for the Mission location, and when it was time for a wardrobe change, they upped the ante with their cocktail ensembles. These two looked ready for an Old Fashioned.
First comes love, then comes the wedding. They had a lovely afternoon ceremony on the grassy courtyard of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio. The couple exchanged their own vows on a late Sunday morning followed by a brunch themed reception with all the fixins. Mimosas, scones, chicken and waffles, and an omelette bar were a few of the delicious options. There was a live band playing jazz music which kept the couples dancing and they set the mood for their stunning afternoon reception.
